We are very excited to bring you our 2012 Class List.  We are sure there is something for everyone in this great variety of classes.  Some of the classes will use a pattern from the same book, therefore if you purchase a book for one class, you may be able to use it for multiple classes.  Listed below are the classes using the same book for patterns.

Beginner Class

 Have you ever wanted to learn how to quilt, make all those nice seasonal table runners, place mats, baby quilts and the like? BUT, you don't even know how to thread your machine! This is the class for you.  We start with, yes, threading your machine and machine care, and will finish at binding a quilt.  Plus everything in between.  Get rid of that fear of your sewing machine and have a few laughs with us and learn to quilt.  This class is limited to 4 students, so sign up early.

$50 ~ includes 12 month pattern

 Anything goes in this fun work of art ~ you will learn new techniques & skills, including needle felting & silk ribbon embroidery, and the creativity is up to you.  There are no boundaries on what you can embellish (with buttons, crystals, faux leather, fur, beads, fabric from your stash), the possibilities are endless. 
Space is limited to 8 so register early!


 


Desert Sun Pillow

 A gorgeous 24x24" pillow, folding techniques are used to add a textured look to a quartet of log cabin blocks.  Perfect to give as a gift, or to put on a bed or couch.

Skill Level - Beginner

 

This is a quilt as you go project.  When you finish this quilt, there is no binding to add.  Just snip the raw edges, toss it into the washer and dryer.  A perfect size for that special baby on your list or a lap quilt. 

 


Strip Six Class

 Saturdays Feb 18th, March 17th & April 21st

10:00am - 2:00pm

Skill Level - Confident Beginner

 

These classes will give you directions to make six different blocks using 2 ½" strips.  After you have mastered these techniques you will be capable to turn these blocks into placemats, table runner or quilts.

 Learn to make these spectacular placemats using the paper piecing method of the log cabin block.  This is a good way to learn the paper piecing method, which has become very popular.  Make 2 or make 20, once you learn how you will be whipping them off in no time.

 They're Baaaack!  Our 4 fun loving crazy quilters are back to learn more.  They started with the beginners class and won't quit.  They keep asking for more and more every spring and fall.  They certainly keep us on our toes trying to come up with new stuff for them.

A new look for your summer dècor.  Combine a star centre with log cabin points finished off with some appliquè.  There will be some homework for this project.

 


 Design Your Own Class

Is there a class you would like to take, but you don't see it on our class list, or it is not offered at a time that works for you? No problem, we offer private, group or friends day out classes designed by you.  Just pick your project, pick the time and the day and we will do our best to accommodate your request.  Contact store for more details. 

 


CLASS REGISTRATION POLICY 

Classes are on a first come first served basis; therefore payment must be made at the time of registration to guarantee your seat in the class.  Costs of the classes do not include patterns, taxes or supplies (unless otherwise stated).  You may register in person at the store using cash, cheque, debit or credit card and also by phone using credit card.  Class sizes are limited, so register early to avoid disappointment.  All classes are GST applicable.  Classes will begin on time, please arrive 15 minutes early to allow for set up.  Our classroom is a perfume/scent free zone due to allergies. If a class is cancelled due to low registration, you will be given a full refund.  If you cancel out of a class at any time, you will be given an in store credit only to the amount of the registration fee.  A class supply list will be given upon registration, please be sure you have everything you will need before coming to class. You will receive a 10% discount off of regularly priced fabrics and supplies that are needed for the class when you purchase at Threads That Bind. All classes include complimentary coffee, tea and water.  For full day classes, please bring a lunch - fridge and microwave facilities available.  We have a limited number of sewing machines available for rent, which will be reserved on a first come first serve basis - please reserve them when you register ($5 + GST) - you must supply your own thread for the machine.  Please include your daytime phone number where we can contact you with any further details regarding the class.
